Johannes Wessmark

Johannes Wessmark was born in Karlstad, Sweden in 1962. He has been painting and drawing for most of his life and in the middle of the 90s he started to exhibit his work. He is autodidact and has learned the handcraft of painting by himself. In 2006 he decided to fulfill his dream to become as a fulltime artist and is now one of Europe’s leading photorealists. Johannes has participated in many art competitions with great success and has also managed to make his way into several juried exhibitions both national and international.

He is a member of The International Guild of Realism, The Swedish Artists National Organization, IAA International Association of Art and more. His knowledge of photorealistic painting is in demand and he has both taught and lectured on the subject, both in Sweden and abroad. Johannes subject of choice is figurative and landscape paintings and often a mix of the two. He wants to convey the beauty in both the female body and the Swedish landscape.
