The Sugar Skull was a creation from a much earlier period in the artist’s career. Taking inspiration from The Day of the Dead a Mexican holiday celebrated throughout Mexico, the inspiration struck her to create an overgrown skull with just as much fun colors as the sugar skulls she had seen in her youth while traveling with her family. This piece took several months to develop pouring time and creativity from her experiences and travel.
